Truman
Neutered Male – Approx. B/D April 2006, 65 lbs. Truman is a stunningly handsome Australian Shepherd mix with very unique markings! He thrives on affection and loves to please, is excellent in his crate, loves to play and run with all the other dogs and gives kisses to those he trusts and loves. He’s a good solid 65 lbs., with a little nubby tail that wags a 100 miles an hour to show how happy he is! He likes to be included in family gatherings. Even when I was just sitting around reading a book to the kids he would lay down beside us just to be involved. He really enjoys rolling around, he's a big puppy at heart. So needless to say, I spent a lot of time sitting on the floor rubbing his belly. Blazer
"BLAZER" is a wonderfully, sweet guy whose family lost their home & had to return him to "Pups". They were broken-hearted, but had to give him back afte they had adopted him from us when he was a young 8 wk. old puppy. Blazer does not look or act like he's 10 yrs. old, he's active, affectionate & loving. Up to date on all shots, vet checked & healthy, he's housebroken & well-behaved in the house & on the leash. He loves to go for car rides & visit other people & other dogs, he's good with kids, too. He is excellent on his potty traiining & goes immediately whether he's on leash or loose in the fenced back yard. “CODY” is a 5yr. old yellow Labrador Retriever who is looking for a new home because his mom’s new job keeps her away from home for too many hours & he is not getting the love & attention he is used to. He is well-behaved, knows his commands for “sit” & “down”. He is a great companion dog, loves walks & exploring. 	SMOKE - Yup, it's me, the "original" Smoke - I just have more character now with my new ear clip!! I'm still as loving, fun, happy-go-lucky as I ever was. I JUST LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to play ball with ANY kind of ball - soccer, tennis, rubber, Kong, baskeball, funny bounces ones - you throw it, I'll get it!! I'll even try to carry 2 at a time in my mouth!! I do not like to be crated, but prefer to spend ALL my time by your side, esp. if you are on the computer - my spot is to your side just in case you might want to reach out & snuggle with me. If you want a gal to follow you everywhere, THAT'S ME!! My downfall is cars, I just want to go in everyone that I see, so I get very excited & try to get in ALL of them. But my foster mom is working very hard to correct that behavior. I need a 5' - 6' privacy fence to play in as I am really long & lanky - but I never like being outside without my humans for company - they are too much fun!!
Tyson
	Tyson's DOB: 8/18/03, male, neutered, 52 lbs. Tyson is an energetic, happy Blue Tick Coonhound who needs someone to fill his zest for life with lots of fun, places to go and things to do! He is an EXCELLENT walking partner & would excel as a jogging or running partner - his "foster mom" is not quite up to that, but we do take nice long walks! Tyson has been professionally obedience trained, is housebroken and crate-trained, but was not well treated by the child in his previous home, so would do best with kids 10 and up. He's the perfect size for going places and doing things - not too big to take along wherever you go to have fun. Tyson likes riding in cars and gets along well with other dogs. Aspen's DOB: 5/15/03, female, spayed My name is "RAMBO" & I'm a big, tough 15 lb. MIGHTY DOG!!! Actually, I'm REALLY a little love bug & prefer to be a lap sitter if you'll let me. I'm a little on the shy side to begin with, but I'm gettin' so much LUV at my foster home I just had to come out of my shell!! Now I run around all over the place just like a silly puppy...but I still like to be picked up & carried around (gently of course!). When I was a really young pup, something happened to hurt my left front leg & they never took me to the vet to fix it properly. Now I walk with a slight limp & my left elbow kinda sticks out, but it doesn't affect how I run & play & it doesn't hurt me either - I'm still cute as a button. Just look at my BIG, SAD, puppy-dog eyes....how CAN you resist me??? SSShhhh - don't tell everyone, but I like to give kisses too, but only to very special people who hug & snuggle with me!! MISS SCARLETT - My name is "Miss Scarlett" & I'm a Southern gal who likes LOTS of lovin'!! You see I missed out on a lot 'cause I was a "street dog" for awhile & had to fend for myself with no home or family. But now I'm in a wonderful foster home where I get all the good food I need, plenty of love & attention...& I can't get enough of any of it!! I have become an excellent walking partner, perfect in my crate & in the house too. I'm the PERFECT size at 50 lbs. to take places & do things with, I enjoy riding in the car & behave beautifully. I LOVE playing with other dogs, running & playing ball, wrestling & rolling around on the ground. I am not a dominant dog at all, so I get along with everyone. I like kids too & anybody who will rub my tummy, brush me & spoil me at every chance they get!! Could you PLEASE come over & spoil me rotten like I really deserve???

"STUBBY" - neutered male, B/D 8/11/97, 57 lbs. Stubby is a very handsome, very sweet & loyal red Doberman/maybe Shepherd??mix boy. His owners were transferred to India & were concerned that the long flight & change would not be the best choice for Stubby at his age. Although he CERTAINLY does not look or act his age AT ALL!! He is very slim, trim & healthy, walks gently & perfectly on his leash, is crate-trained, housebroken & enjoys the company of dogs & people. Pups fostered Stubby & his other 4 siblings when they were puppies, so we know his background, history & medical info. Stubby is an extremely affectionate & loving boy who has more love to give for years to come. Could he brighten YOUR home??

SNOOP!! Neutered male, 55 lbs. B/D 11/07 Snoop is an extremely sweet, loving pup with a sturdy, compact frame & a happy, wagging, always curled-up tail!! This gorgeous golden boy always has a smile on his face,enjoys playing with all his canine buddies & walks extremely well on a leash. He's a very affectionate guy who looks often for your praise & love. He's very attentive, smart & learns quickly. He behaves well in the house, in the car & in his crate. His ears show a lot of his personality because sometimes they are up, & sometimes they flip forward like he's waving at you with both of them. Snoop will make a wonderful addition to a lucky home & family!

"BONNIE BLUE" - Spayed female, B/D 8/18/03, 54 lbs. Bonnie Blue is Tyson's sister & is just as sweet as he is. Bonnie is completely housebroken & crate-trained, walks beautifully on a leash & plays well with other dogs who don't get over-exuberant. Bonnie Blue would do best in a calm, gentle adult home with LOTS of positive reinforcement - she is a VERY loving & affectionate girl when she feels safe & secure with her human family members.

Selena DOB: 8/18/03, female, spayed

Can you give an out of work "yard dog" a wonderful & loving forever home?? She wasn't really good at her job because she's so sweet & affectionate - so she got replaced by a surveillance sytem!! Selena is a GREAT dog, healthy, smart & loves to be right by your side. She learns very quickly with praise & love, walks beautifully on a leash & sits without a command when you stop walking. You can hold a treat in front of her nose & she will not take it until you say "okay"! She is now a completely inside dog & has made the adjustment with NO problem at all. She has learned - in only 3 days - to go into her crate on request, seems to LOVE her nice soft dog bed & goes out to take care of business. She will need a wooden privacy fenced yard when she does go out to play or go potty. (She tries to climb chain-link!). If she doesn't have a fenced yard, she would do just fine with nice, long, leisurely walks. Selena bonds quickly with the person who gives her love & attention, & responds in kind many times over . The family who adopts her will have a truly fabulous companion for many years to come!!

"THEO" - neutered male, B/D 11/07. This EXTREMELY handsome golden guy was found lying very sick in a neighbor's driveway & was rushed in for care. They found he had Parvo, but this wonderful lady would not give up on him! The vets treated him, kept him quiet & safe through his quarantine period, he tested egative - then he gained weight & has made a complete recovery. As you can plainly see - he is VERY loving & FULL of life! Theo now weighs in at 56 lbs. at less than 8 mos. old. He just BOUNDS everywhere, loves to play with all his canine buddies, is very smart & well-behaved, walks well on his leash & is interested in everything & everyone. He likes playing ball & will even bring it back! His gorgeous coat is soft & wavy on his back & his tail never stops wagging! This sweet guy will make you smile & keep you laughing with his pure enjoyment of life, love & the pursuit of puppyness!!

I’m pretty little Miss "April" & I am looking for my forever home & family! I just turned 2 months old so I need someone who is going to be at home with me - at least most of the time so I can get in all my training to be a wonderful big dog when I grow up! But I’m in NO HURRY to grow up ‘cause I LOVE being a spoiled & loved little pup. My foster mom holds me a lot & rubs my tummy for me, I really like that!! I also like playing with my bigger puppy friends & even the gentle grown-up dogs here. I’m already learning to be well-behaved in my crate, I have LOTS of good chew toys in there for my little teeth. I come in to go in my crate just like the BIG DOGS so sometimes I pretend I’m just like them! Baron is a handsome Shepherd mix who would love to live in a home where he doesn't have to be in a crate. He is housebroken, playful, enjoys playing with all other dogs and has lived with cats with no problem. We’re lovable sweet gals from South Carolina.

I’m Izzabelle and I have a BEAUTIFUL soft curly black coat because I’m part Chesapeake Bay Retriever. My natural curls make me look VERY cute and cuddly, which is good ‘cause I LOVE to CUDDLE!! I will roll over on my back for a tummy rub ANY time you want to give me one!

My sister’s name is Arabella (got adopted...woo hoo for her) and she looks more Shepherd with her coloring, but her coat is soft and wavy in the back too (but NOT as curly as mine!). She is a little bit more independent that I am, but she likes being held and loved too – just not for as long as I do!!

We are both very playful and happy girls, excellent in our crate, already walk really well on a harness and leash and we’re only 6 months old! We like to play with other dogs as long as they don’t pick on us little Southern “belles”, we LOVE kids and going places and doing things!

I’m Bud, but you can call me BUD-weiser if you want to!! I am a VERY loving, solidly built Shepherd mix, who loves to play with other dogs, loves kids and all people. I walk beautifully on a leash, am excellent in my crate and love to cuddle, esp. on the furniture with you!!

I love to go for car rides and I’m the perfect size at 46 lbs. to take everywhere with you. I would make a great running companion, can jump really high – so you might be able to teach me Frisbee playing! I’m almost 3 years old, but you would never know it because I act more like a puppy than my age – I’m just full of energy and playfulness.

My name is Midnight, or you can call me “Knight” for short!! I am a BIG, growing puppy with HUGE paws and the bounding energy of “Tigger”! I LOVE everyone and everything and I just want to see what’s out there in this big, exciting world.

My foster mom calls me “Galloping Galupy” because I never walk anywhere – I go 100 miles an hour all the time because there are so many places and people and things to see and do and go!! I need an experienced owner who can calmly and firmly work on my over-exuberance and channel it in the right direction so I can become the excellent companion doggy I want to be for my new home and owner. Someone who is willing to spend the time doing really good obedience training with firm, positive reinforcement before I grow to my adult potential size.

I’m already 70 lbs. at 7 months, so I’m gonna be a BIG ‘UN!! Because of that, I would not do well in a home with small children, even though I like kids – I’m just ALL paws and legs right now…..and they go ALL over the place ‘cause I’m such a puppy.

I’m EXCELLENT in my crate, play well with all other dogs and am exceedingly handsome and strong (if I do say so myself!!). If you think you can handle my Tigger-like bounciness, come over and play with me – think you can wear me out?? I’ll bet you can’t!! .

Sabel will be 7 years old in May of 2008 and is a very loving, and protective dog. She is a Shepherd, Husky and Chow mix, medium sized dog weighing about 45 pounds.

Sabel is not getting along with her new doggie roommates and needs to find a new home where she can be the only dog and can get all the love and attention she needs and deserves. She is a well trained dog, knows her basic commands, and loves to hang out in her kennel. She is not overly energetic but loves to chase squirrels. Sabel likes to go for walks and is very good on a leash. She likes to run if given the opportunity. She’s the perfect dog for a loving, single dog home.

Spartan is an adorable, silly, goofy guy, not quite a year old, who loves to run and play. He’s learning about walking on a leash, but he’s full of fun and certainly loves life and everyone in it!! He is a WONDERFUL playmate for other dogs, esp. his best gal, Kenya, and he could probably play all day and never get tired.

Spartan LOVES toys of ALL kinds, esp. ball playing - but he'll settle for squeaky toys, rope toys, or sticks!! He's VERY affectionate with people and sits happily for hugs and kisses. He would energize your home and your life for many years to come!

Kenya is a one year old beautiful dark-eyed girl who just LOVES to be in someone’s lap! She is VERY playful & would make a fantastic Frisbee player, jogging partner or agility dog…except when she’s angling up to you for love & attention. It’s almost impossible to resist her big, soulful brown eyes and when she wags, she wags her whole body.

This girl is a delight to be around,she’s learning about walks & will sit & lean against you when you come to a stop. She has been excellent in her crate, is housebroken and wants very much to please you. She adores playing with other dogs, esp. her best buddy, Spartan!

Willow: female, spayed

I LOVE to romp in the outdoors, play with rope toys, sticks, chase each other & all our puppy friends. But most of all I just LOVE to give LOTS and LOTS of puppy kisses! So if you aren't a big fan of getting puppy kisses, I might overwhelm you with my affection!

My little stubby tail goes at least 100 miles an hour with happiness when I'm having fun and greeting new people. It just might mean more hugs, rubs and playtime. I am eager to learn and want to please because the thing I want the most in the whole wide world is a really loving home and family of my own, maybe a couple of kids to play with, someone to give kisses to EVERY single day!!

I am about 40 - 45 lbs. now, so I am going to be very pretty when I grow all the way up! I could use some new kissing material - foster mom & dad are getting pretty used up by now - any volunteers out there anywhere???

I get along well with other dogs, like car rides, and get along well with children.

Calli is a beautiful chocolate Lab who is just a joy to watch when she is running and playing in the yard. She is excellent in her crate and housebroken – but she is also a dominant dog, so therefore she must be the only dog in the home and should only be with teenagers and adults.  She has some training and does well on her commands, does NOT enjoy being outside by herself, much preferring human company. She would probably be a GREAT running partner and does great walking on leash – but is not always friendly with other dogs she meets. She enjoys being petted and loved on by her humans and would just love to find her forever home!

I’m a sweet little Southern gal from South Carolina just lookin’ for luv up here in ole’ Virginny! I was born down there around the last half of 2006, so that makes me a young gal between 18 months and 2 years old. I’m VERY playful, energetic and enjoy playing ball and racing around the yard with all my new foster brothers and sisters! I must have an English background ‘cause I’m one of those solidly built, lower to the ground Labs. I have been blessed with a gorgeous – if I do say so myself! - and luxurious thick black coat and my paws are quite large to help me jump around and have fun.

I LOVE other dogs and I LOVE kids and I LOVE attention and my foster mommy is teaching me manners and walking well on a leash. OH!! and I just ADORE chasing squirrels too!

My solid little body only weighs about 50 – 55 lbs., so I am a GREAT size to take everywhere with you so you can have lots of fun with me. I might even like to go swimming with you?!?

Polly's DOB: 8/2006, female, spayed

Polly is one of the sweetest, most loving dogs we have ever had here. If you want a dog that will lean against you for love and affection, follow you or your kids everywhere, and rollover on her back constantly for “belly rubs”, then you MUST come to meet Miss Polly!!

She is a very tall dog, and now that she is all healthy she has gained weight from 51 to 65 lbs. – but she is so laid back and relaxed that she doesn't’t seem to be a “BIG DOG”! Found running loose in the “projects” in Richmond with a bad elbow and heartworm positive, it’s hard to believe just how adorable and entertaining she is in her favorite position – on her back for “rubs”! Her coat is SO soft and she does not seem to shed at all. Polly is ALL legs, but never jumps up on you! Come and spoil this sweetheart of a dog – she is irresistible!!

I’m a 7 – 8 mo. old Yellow Lab guy with loads of love and energy who enjoys playing, running and giving kisses. I’m learning to walk on a leash, I’m doing well on my crate-training and I’m having fun playing with all my friends here. Jackson's DOB: 3/2006. male, neutered

Jackson is a 38 lb. neutered pup who is absolutely fantastic with children. His favorite position is laying with his head in your lap, with several kids petting him and loving on him! If you are looking for a true snuggle-bug, this pup is the one for you - he loves to cuddle! He is playful but calm, and is doing very well on the leash and great on his crate training. Jackson gets along well with other dogs and loves to go for car rides. He thrives on attention, is very smart and wants to please you, so he picks up what you want him to do very quickly. Ginger: female, spayed, 6 years old, 40lbs

Beautiful golden Chow who is so sweet and friendly (everyone is surprised when they meet her - don't tell her she's a Chow!) and needs a new home where she can be the Only Dog. She gets along great with children, loves to ride in cars, play with toys, and to be out in the snow. She's always been an indoor/spoiled dog and will follow you and be your new shadow. She isn't a lap dog but she wants to always be in the same room with you. Ginger has never shown any aggression towards people but has recently been having problems getting along with other dogs. Her stubborn Chow nature demands that she be Alpha among dogs. She's housetrained, knows a few commands, will give her paw for a treat, and doesn't need a lot of exercise. In the hot days of summer she'd much prefer staying inside the cool of the air conditioned house but come winter and the snows and she'll want to be outside in it all day long. Ginger is a very low-maintenance dog that will a loyal companion.

Ginger is micro-chipped and tattooed, is up to date on all her shots, heartworm prevention and flea prevention. Her last checkup was in June 2007 and she is in excellent health.

Tickles: DOB January 2007, male, neutered

Tickles is a very sweet, loving and playful guy - just the PERFECT size to go everywhere and do everything with his favorite people. He LOVES to play ball and will retrieve balls, kong toys, rope toys and sticks. He is walking well on a leash and gets along with everyone he meets - canine or human. He is great with kids, excellent in his crate and absolutely adorable! He would really like it if you would come over & play with him for an hour......or two.....or maybe more??

Dixxi's DOB: 7/2003, female, spayed

Dixxi is a very shy girl who requires a very special person to love her. She was obviously abused before she came to Pups 2 Luv, probably not physically, but verbally to the point where she is extremely timid. She has NEVER in any way shown any aggression, but it will take time and patience to build her trust in you. She relates much better to women than to men and loves to play and run with other dogs of any age. She mothers all the puppies that we rescue, takes them under her "wing" (or paw!) and teaches them their manners and how to play. She was in good physical shape when we got her, but now she has put on some weight and her black coat is glossy and really shines like silk. Dixxi is really a beauty! She runs like the wind and jumps like a deer and is a very happy girl when she is feeling secure and safe.

Dixxi would do best in a quiet, serene home situation, with not a lot of coming and going activity. Dixxi needs someone with a calm and gentle personality who would be willing to give her the time she needs to become the loving and faithful companion she is so capable of becoming.

Dixxi gets along well with other dogs.

Dixxi would love to be in a home with at least another friendly, playful doggy companion.

Tippy's DOB 9/16/02- male, neutered

Tippy is a happy, energetic and healthy male dog whose previous owners had professionally trained at Old Towne School for Dogs in Alexandria - so as well as being housebroken and crate-trained, he knows all his obedience commands!!

Tippy is a very loving and affectionate dog who enjoys lots of hands on attention, brushing, long walks, the water, and especially car rides!!

Tippy loves to play ball & will wear out your throwing arm before he gets tired of bringing the ball back to you for more!

He gets along well with gentle, older children, were raised with cats and has a smiling, tail-wagging attitude towards life.

Rebel came to Pups2Luv with her sister - Yankee - who has already been adopted. Rebel is more outgoing than her sister and very sweet and loving!! She’s a wee bit stubborn but definitely wants to please!! Loves people, kids, other dogs, and wants to be where YOU are!! Her coloring is really pretty and stands out in a crowd.

Rebel is learning to walk on a leash, sit and working on her crate-training – being in a shelter for an extended stay didn’t help her, “Pups” rescued her on her very last day! Aspen will be 4 this month & is a beautiful S/F yellow Lab mix. She loves kids older than babies, non-aggressive dogs, was raised with cats, & is very affectionate & loving with gentle people. She enjoys the outdoors, loves car rides, going places & is very well-behaved on the leash. She is crate trained & housebroken & extremely well-mannered. Pups had her entire litter as young puppies, but she was returned due to not getting along with the newborn baby in the household.

Roc is not quite 2 years old. He is a gorgeous reddish golden N/M mixed breed guy who gets along well with kids, other gentle dogs & all people. He is crate trained, housebroken & just loves to play ball, but he only likes to be outside if you are out with him - he is definitely a people dog! He walks well on the leash & likes to go for car rides too. He would love to meet you if you would come over to play with him!!

We LOVE to romp in the outdoors, play with rope toys, sticks, chase each other & all our puppy friends. But most of all we just LOVE to give LOTS and LOTS of puppy kisses! So if you aren't a big fan of getting puppy kisses, we might overwhelm you with our affection!

Our little stubby tails go at least 100 miles an hour with happiness when we're having fun and greeting new people. It just might mean more hugs, rubs and playtime. We go right into our crates when our foster mom asks us too, and chew on our nylabone toys because we're all teething!! Willow & Forrest are good in their crates- "most of the time"! But all of us are eager to learn and want to please because the thing we want the most in the whole wide world is a really loving home and family of our own, maybe a couple of kids to play with, someone to give kisses to EVERY single day!!

We are about 40 - 45 lbs. each now, so we are going to be very handsome & pretty dogs when we grow all the way up! We could use some new kissing material - foster mom & dad are getting pretty used up by now - any volunteers out there anywhere???

Baxter's DOB: 1/2004, male, neutered

Baxter is a very special dog!! He LOVES people, long walks, couches, comfy beds, dogs, windows seats, kisses and hugs - which he returns with pleasure (in fact, more often than not, he initiates the hugs and kisses!!).

He would make a terrific, great, furry friend to visit nursing homes or schools...either for the challenged or fully capable kids. Senior citizens would be a thrill for him.....all that attention and kissing!!! With gentleness and affection, he acclimates in a very, very short time to his new home, surroundings and family.

His pictures here on the website don't do him justice at ALL!! He has the most spectacular eyes - they are a deep, deep soulful brown and look right into your heart!! His big, floppy ears go everywhere when he runs around! Then when he wants to play games with you, he'll WOOF at you in this great big Basset bark, and then he runs in little circles just out of your reach until he decides it's time for him to let you catch him!!

Baxter likes riding in cars and gets along well with other dogs.

Kirby is a medium sized gal who still has the energy to enjoy jogging or roller-blading with a new partner (just give her some time to work into it again!). She used to do it with her previous owner and loved it, and now she REALLY misses the activity and keeping her girlish figure in shape! She is still very muscular - NO FLAB on her "bod" and she's very affectionate too! She's housebroken and crate-trained and would dearly love to spend the rest of her years jogging and roller-blading in a "forever home" with a "forever friend"! This "verrry" handsome fellow was rescued off of a cable wrapped around 2 trees in Maryland and his ears were all bitten up from the flies - but now he is a happy-go-lucky, playful guy in great health! His favorite sport is to throw the rope toys up in the air, flip them all over the place and show off for you, or he can play with balls just like a cat with his paws and dribble them around the yard (and you) to see if you can catch him. KITTY is a very enthusiastic Dalmatian gal "looking for love"!! She has lived happily with little children and other dogs and LOVES affection! She's very sweet, very healthy, but absolutely CANNOT coexist with cats - hence her name "Kitty"!!

She has a stocky build, but at 54 lbs. she's a great medium size girl with a shiny coat and is doing very well in her obedience classes!

NIKOLAS is one of the sweetest, most loving pups we have ever had here! His favorite toy is his red squeaky ball that he even sleeps with!! I'm a handsome devil who loves to play and can be mischievous at times too! On occasion I like to rummage thru the trash to see what might be snackable in there, and if the broom or mop is handy, I think I might get the hang of using that - once I'm through playing with it and twirling it around some. I'd LOVE to have someone to play ball with me - tennis anyone?? or soccer? I could probably get the idea of Frisbee given the chance too! Jogging, hiking or running would be cool, I'm up for that! I'm a very sweet, laid-back gal who is doing very well on my obedience training and leash training. My big, beautiful brown eyes and my four spiffy white paws make me stand out in a crowd. I can be a little shy in the beginning because I was previously adopted and the other family dog was very dominant with me. To be quite honest, he kinda scared me a little, but I warm up quickly when I feel confident and comfortable. I love people and kids and other dogs that don't pick on me!! St. Bernard mixed pup, weighs about 55 lbs. Very playful "people" dog, best when he is "with you", likes to follow you around from room to room, he is a "nibbler", likes to nibble at your fingers - NOT A BITER AT ALL!! Just wants you to know he's there all the time!! I think he needs people almost like a "security blanket"!! He doesn't want to be left again maybe?!? Very lovable guy!!
